This charcoal surpasses others in burning hotter, boasting a longer duration, and generating minimal ash compared to almost every briquette we assessed. During tests, this charcoal consistently maintained an average temperature of approximately 900 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour, providing a total cooking time of 80 minutes—a performance that ranked as the second-best among all the charcoals tested. This extended heat duration is ideal for achieving excellent charring and searing results. Additionally, these briquettes left behind a lesser amount of ash than Kingsford Original Charcoal and did not introduce any undesirable flavors to our burgers.
